It's still in beta. Beta 3 should be released soon. There was an announcement on the UT about the new version some time ago. Although I can't discuss details here, there will be a lot of new functionality, including:

1. Much more SQL Server support (SPT and Remote views).
2. True n-tier, distributed development, using the Windows DNA achitecture.
3. Strong XML support.
4. Strong support for COM+ application development.

In addition, much of the framework will be slimmer and faster!
