>Where I work, we have used VFP intently for about 6 months, and are just starting to realize the benefits of using a 'framework'. What is everyone else doing interms of adopting a framework? I went to the maxframe demo but it seemed to really require that you adopt their feel and touch, and just bought the codebook by Griver to read this week. I am also interested in what would be the best way to go to stay marketable as a contractor. What is everyone else doing? Thanks!
I'm definitely using a custom made framework out of necessity. Like Barbara, I also have, and is also custom made, a smaller framework that I usually use myself. Basic subclassed controls that support some stuff, some good composite controls, searcher grid, Vlad's resize class, app class, database class, transaction class, messaging class...I'm sure you get the picture.
I've seen some of the 3rd party frameworks out there, nice when you learn them I guess, but if you take the time to develop your own, you'll know it and can easily customize it yourself. You shouldn't shy away from what's out there though, if it suits you, use it.
