Yep, saw that. Back in FPW, I had a main executable that started application files (APP). There was a main table that listed the application name, file name and fully qualified path. It was set up so that if the user did not have rights to the directory containing the application (couldn't "see" the file), the list box that allowed them to choose disabled the item. In order to get around users not being mapped to the same network drive, omitting the drive specifier caused the routine to use the current default drive. Worked like a champ.
