But what kind of operations? For example, if you SCAN the table doing some processing for every record, it is easy to use any of progressbar classes ( there are several in Downloads section), and knowing the record count and where in the table you are, to show the progress. You also may send some values to the progressbar periodically to show the percentage completed.
