Whoops.. Right you are. I was thinking of the word general as in universal. Roman Catholicism is a specific and different definition.
Personally I like the late Dr. Francis Schaeffer's definition of "Historic Christianity", defined as defined by the apostles and writers of the New Testament
plus nothing. No tradition, no goofy interpretations, no trying to wedge some non-Biblical notion into the scriptures and so forth.
As you well know, there's a lot passing itself off as Christian which is no such thing but rather an embarrassment.
