Fred,
We did something similar to a treeview using a VFP grid. The grid is hierarchal in nature with the ability to display folders (opened or closed), with other images displayed at the lowest hierarchal level. It clearly is not as pretty as the treeview control but it does work and is native VFP. This is just to let you know that such things can be done in VFP.
