uhhhh.... well sort of. Generically I meant that the project manager window becomes your ide to source control, so you check files in and out thru the project manager.
Since I never use this (and my recommendation is to always use the VSS client because project manager integration gets really flaky, especially when the vss project is first created this way) i forgot how you turn it on & off. Looking at my tools->options->projects settings, the only checkbox i have turned off under "source control options" is "auto add new projects", so this must be the trigger to turn project integration on & off.
To turn project integration off on a project that's already been setup this way, i believe you can do it thru the project menu->source control. Then if you still have the same trouble using the VSS client directly, dump the vss project and start over fresh using VSS client directly. HTH
