The problem we ran across was the variable length nature of a receipt did not lend itself to the page-centric thinking of the report designer (we also couldn't get the uploaded logo and colored text to print using the report designer). We just ran through the receipt object, sent the appropriate text and control functions to the printer and when everything was done, added a couple of blank lines (yes we had to do that too) and send the Cut function call.
Larry my client has not supplied me with his printer API. What is a typical Cut Function?
