It really is a matter of where you will be implementing the component. If you will be adding this functionality to a form it would be marginally easier with the OCX because many of the properties and methods are exposed on the property sheet. If you are implementing it in code, like a programatic class, it makes little difference. If you go the code route the DLL carries a smaller footprint but allows the same functionality.
