I certainly did not mean to imply that you had to buy our book. You asked for a solution to your problem so I gave you the only reference I know which specifically addresses it.

I understand all about being miles from home and extremely busy because I am as well. I simply cannot post all of the code from the combo class in the book that does this has half a dozen custom methods and I just do not have the time to go through and post everything.

The basic concept is that you unbind the combo behind the scenes and store the controlSource to a custom cControlSOurce property. You then have to manually update the combo's ControlSource from its Value (call from its Valid) and upodate its value from its ControlSource (call from its Refresh)
