I don't know why you guys are taking that date from Amazon as reliable information. Consider that it's usually 4-6 weeks from RTM to actually having a CD in your hands (at least it was back when I paid attention). What's today? May 3rd. We would have to RTM today for it to get to Amazon in time to meet that date (even then it would be iffy). Did you hear any news about VFP7 today? Nah, me neither. > >So, doing the math, if I were outside MSFT, I wouldn't be expecting my order to ship on June 6th. Not an official pronouncement from Microsoft, it's just how I'd look at it if I were outside the ivory tower. And, no, I'm not saying when RTM is (well, except that it's not today). :-) > >Besides, does any other Microsoft product announce their RTM date? I thought they usually just put out a press release on the day of RTM. Sure, we could announce a date, but all it takes is one show-stopper bug and you're hosed. I don't see any reason to panic just because we're not pre-announcing our release date.
