The learning curve from 5.0 to 6.0 to 7.0 is relatively minor insofar as changing an application from 5.0 to 6 or 7. There are lots of new features that can be taken advantage of *but* I can't think of much of anything that "breaks" between 5 and the newer versions. If you're architecting a new app or making major changes to an existing app, there are a whole lot of additions to VFP in both 6 and 7 that you should be aware of that will make your life a lot easier.

I'd have to say that 5.0 is pretty dead. You might want to get a good look at 7 before making the decision where to move your client to. 7 is not out yet but it shouldn't be too much longer. Also, be aware that VFP6 has gone through several Service Packs; if you use the VFP 6 sitting on the shelves, make sure you get a hold of the SPs.

>I have last done any real development in 5.0. A client running 5.0 has asked for some work..hes got the 6.0 upgrade sitting on his shelf. Where is VFP right now? Is 7.0 out? Should I kick him to 6.0? Is 5.0 dead?
