I just double checked and the site seems ok - all buttons showing properly.

Even stranger - my site is hosted on your side of the pond. I've checked on a fresh PC (client site).

I will check with my hosts over the weekend.

Looks like perhaps your using frontpager hover buttons to link to other pages? if so, your frontpage extensions have been dumped, their history... which of course took the hover buttons with it and all you got left is grey boxes showing.
