Last time I was doing a receipt printing, it was a Star (something 10, XC 10 or so, I'm bad with numbers), and the 10 seemed to be the number of blank lines you had to print after the receipt so it would peek out completely. It's been about six years ago, and it had a decent manual (i.e. just like any other dot matrix), but didn't have a cutter, you had to tear off.
