OK - totally usless argument going on here, but lunch at Taco Bell is riding on it (not sure if that's for the winenr or the loser) - having no serious web development yet - we have no in-house expert ... so we need help!
And the question is:

What is DHTML?

the contenders are:

1 - a language unto itself, invented by Microsoft that is an extension to HTML and allows you to tie into Javascript, etc. Those arguing this point claim that claim that DHTML doesn't need no stinkin' scripting language to do cool stuff - that it "is" it's own language, that MS is the founder of it, etc.

2 - a generic term that means a combination of the DOM, HTML, and a sripting language such as JavaScript. People on this side say that DHTML is just a general term meaning a combination of technologies.

I've looked up a BUNCH of definitions on online dictionaries, sources, etc. and #2 seems to have the most support. Even saw one that said DHTML was developed by Netscape and W3C.

Also at argument are DHTML, Dynamic HTML, and dynamic HTML all the same thing?

TIA!
