No kiddin, eh? They must have recently changed the law.
Around 18 months ago, US Customs impounded my car when I attempted to bring a few boxes back from TJ - cost me $3,000 (fine) + $500 (lost stogies) + $520 (one day of lost work) + the hassle of my life, not to mention that I am now in some central database which throws a flag every time I cross a border coming back into the US.
