I haven't really got any good news for you.
The guy kept having to re-enter the foxuser.dbf path with the problem only solved by a re-install. The problem has returned several times triggered by what I assume is a certain train of events as yet un-identified. If I get any more info I will let you know.

BTW sorry but I think I called you Keith the last time - I didn't mean to be so formal, anyway I'm sure you have been called worse :)
