I use lcPrinter = GetPrinter( ) in an app to allow the user to pick a printer. All is good as long as they pick a UNC print device like \\MONTANA\SV_HPCOLORCADPRO. However this also allows the user to pick “HP LaserJet 4 Plus” which produces “Error accessing print spooler” at runtime.
How is the best way to deal with this?
