Spec? What spec? Oh, sure, there's a spec for controls, but the problem is that there's no spec for the danged ActiveX container. You're right, the authors should test with VFP, but most don't.
There's a company called DBi (they advertise in FPA) who claims to test with VFP. I spoke with them extensively in Miami, and they're committed to making sure their controls work in all VS6 languages. Disclaimer: I've never used their controls, and they fed me a lot of beer in Miami. Even if I could venture an opinion, it would be tainted. :-)
