>My next one is a VFP front end for an ORACLE database. (The client loves Oracle) which contains around 70 tables and around 11000 records. The client already owns the Oracle licenses, although I personally feel there is some overkill here. <g> First thing I noticed was the exponential increase in the time lag between sending a query and getting results via Oracle SQL. Since I am not the Oracle Licensee, I am not bound by the Oracle non-disclosure of perfomance data that is in their license.
Performance could also be affected by the ODBC driver you're using (Microsoft vs. Oracle). In any event, SQL queries (views, pass-through or ADO) seem a lot faster (big suprise).
