>I am having trouble getting the setup wizard to work. I keep getting the "Error Generating CAB file(s): Error Code 3". Please Help.

I used to get that error, prior to service pack 5.

But at the same time, i changed my distribution creation methodology ao I am not sure which fixed the problem.

Just prior to creating a set up, I do a rebuild of the project (with recompile all) then next I open the app file and on the last page, select the "clean up" to re-synchronize the meta tables. Next, create a new executable. (all this you have probably already done.)

My next step is to actually MOVE all the compiled files, data, graphics. and executables to another directory and run setup wizard from there, with the destination directory named "CDROM" Then I open foxpro in the default directory, execute the command line "close all data" then start the wizard. My reason for this was so I did not include all the sourcecode, unused files and other debris left over from the development stage.

Maybe some of these steps are a little overkill, but it did stop that error.

Since then, however, I started using InstallShield 6.2, and while there is a learning curve, I seem to be able to do more and create a better looking install, and of course their build in compresssion engine creates a far more compact installation package that the "makecab.exe" utility in the VFP wizard.
I was glad to read that a customized version of IS will be included in VFP 7.0, and hope it will allow better graphics on the "while installing" screen, and options to put an icon on the desktop, optionally in the startup menu, as well as an entry in Program Manager
