Don't know if this is a good idea, but it's an idea...

Instead of moving the thread to the other forum after just one day, move it after at least 2 BUSINESS days and have a flag at the top of the messages indicating that this thread will be moved in x time to the y forum, where it really belongs.

That way if 3 years from now I need to look something up I know it's all nicely archived in the appropriate forum.

Most people on the UT hang out in the VFP forum mainly, and in comparison, the other forums are still somewhat deserted. I understand that you're trying to change that and I'd like to have more and better ideas, but so far this is what I could come up with in terms of a solution to the problem.
