I'm trying to develop a form similar to a one I've seen time ago.
It's used to search a record in a table with many tags (on code, description, etc.) it hase only a grid where are shown recods and column headers that may have caption in red color when the field associated to the column has a index tag. It works so:
To search you must clik over a column or header corresponding to a field with red header caption, digit the value to search, (the records are read only) the characters came as a string in header caption of the column (substitution of the original caption), the row of the found record is highlighted, so if you press enter is coming up the form containing the searched record redy to modify it.
The solution I try is to control keyboard via keypress event of the form but it seems be difficult.
Could you point me on a similar example or a solution just developed for rapid search ?
