The 2 classes are very similar, in fact the all I did was change the classlib for
the test form that comes with the Outlook class to the MAPI class instead and it almost works.

SET CLASSLIB TO T:\DEV\IJC\IJCCOM\LIBS\MAPIMAIL\MAPIMAIL&&OutlookMail
THISFORM.oMail=CREATEOBJECT("cusMapi")

I am going to change this test form so that it works with the MAPI class and then use it as my testbed for work on attachments.

It is handy because it contains settings for all the properties within it.

There is an element of confusion over which is the newer lib as however.
In the downloads area the Outlook class is described as the sequel to MAPI.
But Nigel seems to indicate earlier in this thread that it is the MAPI class that has had the most recent work done on it.

I will be doing all my work on the MAPI class however since many of my clients will not have outlook. In an ideal world I would like to use the outlook class if I could be sure that its MAPI components will always work with non Outlook applications. The reason for this is that I will have to use part of the Outlook class anyway in order to delete email (only my clients who have outlook will benefit from this)

I started a new thread called 'Whats the best way to email DBFs between remote applications' in the internet applications section.

That thread has additional information in it that may be of use to you.

Please feel free to call me at work at any time 01273 482243
