thanks for the quick reply - I'm talking about RF based data collectors - I've seen the exact solution work on an AS/400 - the hand held bar code readers are treated by the AS/400 as another terminal. The readers are driven by an RF controller. Users log into the RF data collector as if they are on a terminal. The only difference to the AS/400 is that the 'terminals' have a very small screen. On a PC based solution - the hand held bar code data collectors would look like another work station loging into the network. A fox app would run and display info on the screen and prompt for and receive data back. I assume the make of the hardware and the RF controller would have to enable this type of communication, or perhaps would provide some time of interface program. I've not seen this type of solution from an NT network - but I've not looked either.
