So what's the point of Mr Bill pouring $$$ into Apple if he leaves it virtually crippled by his own corporate policies???

Could it be that a crippled Apple, limping along mainly as a graphics design platform, will keep the feds off his back? After all, he can't be a monopoly while there's "another viable platform" around.
