Unlike NT/W2K, W95/98/ME don't support redirecting local ports/devices to local shares.
MS has an article,

If the printer has both parallel and USB connections, you could switch to the parallel connection.
You should be aware of another issue, however. The printer may only support printing from Windows (a so-called GDI printer). Dumping a raw string of ASCII to such a printer will do nothing, or produce garbage as the Windows printer driver must render the print job for the printer engine to print it.
