>>Is there a product which enables Fox to scan in from a form, and which will allow Fox to read the coordinates of the scanned images? Do you remember those battery tests we used to take in school? The kind where you needed a #2 pencil to fill in the bubbles? I have a client who has the forms and the equipment, but I don't know how to procede to integrate it into their VFP v.5 app. Espia doesn't do it. I've been in contact with their sales department, and it will read in a scanned image, but nothing will allow Fox to get the coordinates of those colored-in bubbles. Any suggestions?

>Products like OmniPage will convert to actual text file. Some special character handling for the 'spots' + a text parsing routine might work. OmniPage has been around for ages and does a pretty complete conversion. Also, a mark sense scanner which was the original device for this stuff use to generate numeric 1 and 0 streams for each of the 'spots' on the form. Just needed to know the start and order (row/col or col/row) of the scanner. Since there are still alot of forms like this someone may have a software/scanner equiv. Might search the web for 'mark sense', education testing etc.

Thanx, Gary. I appreciate the information. I'll check into OmniPage & 'mark sense' tonight on the Web. I'll let you know how it turns out.
