Here is the problem...

I have a DCOM object on a NT server. It is registered and works fine, except I must be logged onto my Win98 machine as the user who has access to the DCOM object under DCOMCNFG. What I would like to do is be able to be logged in on my Win98 machine as another user, but pass in the username and password in the CREATEOBJECTEX("dcom.object","123.123.123.123"). Does anyone know how I can go about this?

I am getting weird results using the DCOMCNFG under NT. Sometimes it will allow me to create the object then when I call a function from the object it errors with "Access is denied." Then other times it won't allow me to create the object with the error "OLE control RPC server unavailable." What am I missing from the security side of DCOM? I read Rick Strahl's article in Advisor, but I still must be missing something.

Thanks
Dale
