Hi Ed

This link has a free class you can use for FTP.

http://www.west-wind.com/wwIpstuff.asp

It is very good and is the most common one in use for VFP.
If you examine the help file with it, then all your questions should be answered.

Make sure you have cleared up any Firewall issues with your system admin before you write too much code.
