Yes and No. There are no automation server for this. There are a couple of ActiveX and COM objects that can work that way.
For example, you can acces Outlook Express profiles and Outlook Exchange server using CDO (Collaboration Data Objects), which is called Active Messaging for first versions. You can find a lot of articles about it, include complete help in the MSDN (Look for objects MAPI.Session, MAPI.Message and related objects). When I try these objects, openede Outlook Express shows me changes, but not always (at least I have seen new messages in the outbox when sending from CDO).
