Yes, this is exactly that I thought too. Perhaps, we still can trap mouse up/mouse down events, etc., but it seems like a lot of work. I haven't tried set notify on yet, may be this would be a solution (not a best one, of course).
Other than that, I think, I should live with this behavior. May be users will never find this behavior, as I did :)
