I agree that this approach doesn't cover all bases. But, if a technique addresses the way that most users interact with the application, it may be worthwhile to implement.

We're working on a xplat VFP 3 for Mac and VFP 6 for Win application. I developed a date textbox which addresses century rollover, and others not present in VFP 3. It has a couple holes. But, our clients are much happier with this in place.

I wasn't trying to FixFox. I was rather trying to offer a solution which would help end users in many situations.
