It's genetic. <g>
Almost from the inception of dBASE developers have been dealing with broken promises and disappointments. Even to the point where Ashton-Tate threatened to sue developers - which is where we get the phrase 'xBase' today.
Computer Associates purchased Nantucket, the creator of Clipper. Where is Clipper today. Ashton-Tate purchased dBASE. Where is dBASE today?
The funny part about all of this Kevin is that Microsoft is
the only company that has shown any consistent level of respect to xBase developers. The ONLY one! And yet developers still get spooked at the slightest event.
And this in the face of over nine years of support.
It is surely true that we are all like sheep; Stupid and easily spooked. <g>
