As I recall they were being sued by Ashton-Tate. From that point on it would be guess work on my part. If I were Dr. Dave Fulton, and had a chance to sell FoxPro I would consider the offer. Borland helped the xCase community, by buying Ashton-Tate and dropping all law suits filed by Ashton-Tate. When the judge found out that dBase was orginally in the public domain and created by people employed by the Federal Government, Ashton-Tate lost ground quickly.
