What's wrong with using Visual SourceSafe? I think it works great for any multi-developer situation. It's even a good idea for a single developer just so you can retrieve previous versions if need be.

I don't recommend the VFP project manager w/ VSS integration approach though - it doesn't lend itself well to the underlying principles of version control. I highly recommend doing all check outs/ins manually in VSS not in the VFP pm. If for no other reason, you will have performance problems with project manager integrated Source Control over a WAN. Same goes for VB (or any other dev environment) files. It's so easy to use VSS why mess around with project manager source control integration?

Use SourceSafe (or some other comparable version control software). You'll be better off.
