If you are comfortable with VB and alredy know Pascal then you'll feel right at home in Delphi6+. Other wise, you have the Pascal learning hill to climb. It's a powerful language though, and the hill is not too steep for experienced programmers. I had a prototype for a feedlot application up and running two weeks after I opened a book on how to program in Pascal. The prototype clinched the contract. Pascal is actually very fun, and I loved the power in data typing and structures.
