I guess I assumed it worked the same way as a correlated subquery where the subquery contains a reference to a column of the table in the main query. In that case, it would have to re-execute the subquery every time. I guess I didn't realize the VFP internals would be smart enough to differentiate between when it didn't have to re-execute the subquery and when it did. Good to know. Thanks.
