>>We tried VSS when it first came out, but opted in favor of PVCS. We found compatibility issues with PVCS that didn't improve with upgrades, and working with it was a pain. We discontinued using it. I don't know how much compatibility was caused by Microsoft 'tweeking' their software through various upgrades, as they have often been found doing, making compatibility with 3rd party competative products problematic.

>I've used PVCS from VFP. The COM interface worked fine. It was the PVCS interface and lack of documentation that really sucks. We even had a PVCS consultant come in and setup everything for us. He commented that the Source Control integration in VFP was the best he had seen... beating out VB, VC++, delphi, and others.
Our experience was similar, but running diffs on two versions of the same form never worked but just generated graphic trask. We had to use other means. Also, if Windows crashed PVCS locks became confused.
