>I was wondering. Is Microsoft going to apply their new licensing scheme to Visual FoxPro 7.0? I heard that this new scheme will be applied towards MS Office and Windows, but I have not heard anything as far as VFP 7.0.

>Also, I heard rumors that Microsoft will be implementing a new anti-piracy policy, where their Office products can only be re-installed twice. A third installation would require a call to Microsoft, to obtain a code to reinstall the software. Is this going to be applied to VFP 7? If so, how are they going to enforce this. Will the software only install after it checks an online registration database for the number of previous installations? I'm just curious how they would manage this. This would be a pain, since I upgrade to new computers quite often.

Most of these installation things have been dropped. With OfficeXP, you do have to register it either online or via telephone (I just installed it). I haven't heard if VFP7 will have any of these features, but I doubt it.
