Yes, it is still used. There are somethings that can only be specified in the CONFIG.FPW. For example, location of temp files and not displaying the VFP destop at launch. I don't remember the CONFIG.FPW ever being automatically created. In the command window, type HELP CONFIG.FPW to get info about it.
