Hi,

i want to validate a text box (i.e. text box should not be empty)
in ASP page

but the validation should fire only when user presses a Tab and move to the next control

And if the user goes back to the previous control (usning Shift + Tab or by mouse) then validation should not be fire

for this i have tried to set the validation by using Tab indexes

but still i am facing many problems in that

also pls tell me is there any function in Javascript or VBScript by which i can get the activecotrol.tabindex as we have in Visual Basic

if any body knows the ans then pls tell me with an example
