Help System User Interface - adding records
I have completed the help system portion for an app except for one type of functionality; the user wants to be able to add help for an object that currently doesn't have any. The system is setup to pass the HelpContextID to a form which is based on a table. If the ID exists then the contents are displayed and depending on security settings, available to edit. The problem is that when there is no help available (ID = zero and appropriate message is displayed) the client wants to be able to create it. Somehow I need to be able to permanently assign a HelpContextID to the current object so that it is available for subsequent sessions. Is this possible? Is my only solution to create another table that tracks referenced object names and their correlating HelpContextID? Please let there be something easier that fits in with the way I've already designed the help portion... Thanks!
