It sounds like you are trying to access/read a VFP 5.0 or VFP 6.0 or VFP 7.0 DB without choosing VFP ODBC as your database in Crystal. I used to get that error whenever I either didn't covert the VFP 6 DB to a FOX2X format first or whenever I forgot to import/access (I don't think I actually imported the DB though - just told Crystal what kind of DB I was using under the Crystal menu) the database as VFP ODBC within Crystal. I hope I am remembering correctly so I don't lead you astray. I just don't remember the Crystal menu that it's under. It seems likes it's in the vicinty of Set Location if you know where that is. HTH
