It entirely depends on the architecture of your application. If, for example, you have a distinct data services tier, than the biz object should query the ds tier for a result set and not worry about how the ds tier is getting the data. OTOH, if the biz object directly communicates with the data storage tier, than a direct requery request is perfectly acceptable.
