If you use gendbc in your code: The vfp6 & vfp7 versions look the same, header, etc, but down in the code you see that they have made provisions for events. When you go to vfp7 be sure to include the new version of gendbc.
As for the transition, the only thing I noticed was that the vfp7 compiler finds code errors that the vfp6 compiler missed.
