Hi Miles,

I would *strongly* suggest that you take the 229 test instead of the 029 test. Several reasons, one of which is that the certification will stay good longer. Another reason is that the 228 and 229 tests were developed under much more tightly controled test development criteria utilizing the "minimally qualified candidate" standard in use by MS now. 029 had too many "gotchas" in it -- you either took it and passed without a problem or failed without really knowing why. 229 is much fairer and a better measure of your actual skills.

Of course, having helped develop the exam objectives for 228 and 229 I may be biased :-)

>I was wondering how long an MCP certification is good for. I could not find an answer on MS site. I was planning to take exam 70-029(SQL 7) but now think I should direct my attention toward 70-229(SQL 2000) Does it matter which I take. "Besides a litte more effort for me to obtain SQL 2000!"
