I totally agree with you. Putting Nick on the spot like that is not such a
nice thing to do. Any potential bugs of free public domain software should
be discussed with the original author in a courteous and private manner.
And the author really has his/her own choice to acknowledge or fix it or not.
We should all understand publlic domain software is downloaded and used on
a "Use at your own risk" basis.
