>In one of my page, I need to assign a variable the value of the last character which is just before the . in the URL page. My pages ends in .asp. Just before the ., I need to extract that character and store it in an ASP variable when the page loads. How would I go with that?

Try this:

Dim sTemp, sValue
sTemp = request.ServerVariables("URL")

sTemp = left(sTemp, len(sTemp) - 4)
sValue = right(sTemp, 1)

Or

sValue = Mid(sTemp, len(sTemp) - 5, 1)
