Integration methods
You can choose to access the Crystal Report Print Engine and integrate Crystal Reports' functionality into your database applications in a variety of ways:

Report Designer Component Runtime (RDC)
Crystal Report Automation Server
Crystal ActiveX® Control (OCX)
Crystal Report Print Engine API
Crystal Visual Component Library (VCL).
When they were first introduced, each of these methods represented the latest technology available at that time. Today, you can take advantage of the full power and functionality of Crystal Reports by using the Report Designer Component, our most recent technology

IOW: Only the RDC will have the most recent technology.
One of these features is the PDF export, which is only supported in the RDC. Not in the ActiveX Control, nor in the Automation Server.

Click http://support.crystaldecisions.com , and do a search on the following string: Visual Foxpro and RDC. This will bring up some demo apps using the RDC that have recently been added in the Crystal web site.
